Gate
The 64 energy points in Human Design, derived from the 64 hexagrams of the Chinese I Ching. Each gate represents a specific life theme and innate talent, activated by planetary positions at your birth. Gates are located between energy centers and are key nodes for energy flow.
Channel
Energy flows connecting two gates, with 36 channels in total. When both gates at either end of a channel are activated, the channel is fully defined, creating stable energy traits and talents. Channels are your most reliable and consistent way of expressing energy.
Energy Center
The 9 energy centers derived from the Indian Chakra system and Jewish Kabbalah Tree of Life. Defined (colored) centers represent your stable and reliable energy, while undefined (white) centers are where you receive and amplify others' energy—also sources of growth and wisdom.
Type
Human Design divides humanity into 5 energy types: Generators (37%), Manifesting Generators (33%), Projectors (20%), Manifestors (9%), and Reflectors (1%). Your type determines how your energy operates and your most suitable life strategy.
